We had the opportunity this week to go camping with my family. We were really doubtful that Emmalee would do well, but she's quite the little camper! We camped up in Island Park for 4 days, and she did fantastic. I don't know if it was the fresh mountain air or the smoke, but for some reason Emmalee slept really well. The camping trip was clouded a little by the fact that my mom was really sick (they have been trying to rule out West Nile) and she and dad didn't stay up there with us. They did drive their camp trailer up for William, Emmalee and I to sleep in, though, which was greatly appreciated! We spent time fishing down at the reservoir, sitting around the campfire, and just enjoying everyone's company. Unlike last year, I'm glad to say that we didn't have any bears in camp. The only "eventful" thing that happened was that at 4:30 wednesday morning the carbon monoxide alarm went off in the trailer. We opened the windows, and when it continued to go off, we left the trailer and (for the second year in a row!) went to sleep in the car. It turns out the carbon monoxide alarm goes off when the trailer battery gets low. The battery wouldn't hold a charge, and William ended up hooking it up to our Escape battery 4 times in 24 hours. But all in all, it was a great trip and I already look forward to going next year!

You're brave taking Emmalee camping...even in a trailer. Usually having a baby is my excuse not to go camping.

She looks great, especially in the bandanna. I hope your mom gets to feeling better soon. Our boys just went camping for the first time so I'm glad she did well...I was way too chicken to do it earlier.
