So usually I hate shopping. But today was such a fantastic day full of great finds for not a lot of money, and I HAD to share what we bought.
William and I have finally decided that it's bout time we started buying a few things for "Miss Emmalee" (as my mom refers to her.) There have been some great clearance sales going on lately, so we have yet to pay full price for anything. Today Will and I went to Shopko for their "baby sale." I turned William loose and told him to start looking for things that are cute. He came back a few minutes later with an adorable cold-month outfit for Emmalee that is so adorable I had to include a picture.
My other greatest purchase for the day is one that I have wanted for many, many years. I have been looking for a copy of Arnold Freeburg's painting "Prayer and Valley Forge" in my price range and never found one I really liked. But today, we happened to go to Seagull Book, where they were having their "annual framed art sale." We got a beautiful framed and matted "Prayer at Valley Forge" for 50% off, and I absolutely love it. I think I've been smiling since we found it. The entire drive back to Rexburg from Idaho Falls was spent discussing (among other things, like Emmalee) where we were going to hang it. So I had to include a picture of it, too, so that everyone else could ooh and aah appropriately about how wonderful and patriotic the print is also. I love being an American, and I'm very grateful for those who fought and died for the freedoms we enjoy. I'm grateful to finally have a picture that portrays the need for God in our country.

Love the picture! Also love the outfit- does William want to go shopping for my girls clothes too?
KatieJo thinks Uncle William would make a great personal shopper for her. She wants to know if he's busy when we're there in July :0)
Indeed you were lucky shoppers! That is an adorable suit for Emmalee. And the picture! I too have always wanted one, but never found one for a price I was willing to pay. Knowing that you two found one will keep my hopes up a little longer I think.
I am very impressed at the self control you guys practice! I don't even know what I am having yet, and I want to buy all kinds of cute things on sale. I was really tempted to buy a whole bunch of dresses from Old Navy for 3 bucks a piece, and then, if I wasn't having a girl, to send them to you guys. Phil talked me into waiting to buy girl clothes, until we actually need them. Silly, practical guy!! I'm glad William picked something pink! I was afraid he would only put his little girl in "neutral" colors.
