Introducing.....

Hello! My name is Emmalee, but you can call me Emmalee, Emma, Pumpkin, Sweet Pea, or Sweet Potata. I love to sleep during the day and play all night, except last night I tried sleeping during the night for once. It's amazing how my momma doesn't look nearly as tired when i let her sleep. i heard her tell Daddy something about it being an answer to prayers.
My mom and dad were pretty worried about me last Saturday because I hadn't had any wet or messy diapers in more than 24 hours, and the lactation consultant said i wasn't getting enough to eat. Although I weighed 7 pounds when i was born, by Friday I was down to 6 lbs 10 ounces, fussy, and throwing up everything mom and dad tried to feed me. The pediatrician recommended pedialyte for 12 hours, and that, combined with a blessing from Daddy had me much much better by Sunday morning. In fact, at my appointment Monday I had put on half a pound!!! Daddy says it all went to my cheeks and chin and that i'm even cuter today than I was yesterday.
Anyway, I just thought I'd introduce myself and give a shout out "hello" to friends and family!

This last picture is especially for my Aunt Jill... Mom calls it "suffering for fashion...." Do you think it's as fashionable now as it was in the early 90's? Wait...headbands on the forehead weren't fashionable then either!

Dear New Parents,

I was delighted by the pictures of sweet little Emmalee. One of my favorite students of all time had that same name. Her dad is right to believe that the best place for a baby to put on weight is in the cheeks. You should have seen some of our babies! They didn't even need pillows, because their cheeks suspended their little heads above the mattress!
All the best.
